2023 Certification List
Happy New Year! A New Year means new certification goals. I am building upon my 2022 success plus adding some more goals to my list. Here is my 2023 list below (in no particular order):
2023 Certification List
- CISSP
- AWS security specialty
- AWS machine learning specialty
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure Developer Associate
- Azure AI Engineer Associate
- Terraform Associate
- MS Dynamics CRM Fundamentals
- MS Dynamics ERP Fundamentals
- MS Dynamics Sales Consultant
- Certified Technical Trainer
This list represents everything that I am accomplishing this year.
CISSP
I received my CISSP scholarship to enroll in an exam prep course. I did not sit for the exam because of time and shifting priorities. The SC-100 exam was easier to take (online vs in person). CISSP also required an endorsement and 5 years’ cybersecurity work experience. The ISC2 had accepted SC-100 as part of its CISSP approved credential list. Obtaining my SC-100 along with my ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity gave me the cybersecurity experience and ISC2 exam format to pass my CISSP.
AWS Security Specialty
I have added this to my list for these reasons: 1) I already have my Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect Expert and I wish to be multi-cloud in cloud security; 2) security specialty is supposed to be the easiest AWS specialty certification and 3) I have an AWS Community Builder free exam voucher.
AWS Machine Learning Specialty
I am on the AWS Community Builder machine learning track so receiving this certification is a personal thing. In addition, since I know that I can renew my AWS Community Builder application for a third year, I am making sure that I have this certification on my resume.
AWS Solutions Architect Professional
In 2022 I had two false starts with this certification: I was ill and the second time the raggedy Kryterion online proctoring froze me out forcing me to reschedule my GCP Cloud Digital Leader. That delay and rescheduling cut into my timetable to beat the November 14 thdeadline.
2023 is a New Year and I intend on getting this certification especially if I am going to stay in the AWS Community Builders Program for a third year.
Azure Developer Associate
I have used the Freecodecamp AZ-204 exam prep YouTube video to study for my AZ-305. Even though I failed the AZ-305 retake, the video helped me a whole lot. Since I have both Azure Cloud Week for Partners exam voucher and MS Ignite exam voucher, I am sitting for this AZ-204 before AZ-305 since AZ-204 is an associate certification and there is significant overlap.
Azure Solutions Architect Expert
I do feel like the third time is the charm. I have also read my score report and will bolster the area where I scored 20% in. Getting this section up to 70% assures that I pass this certification.
Azure AI Engineer Associate
My AI-100 certification will expire in June 2023. AI-102 is the current test so I will prepare to pass this certification. I will say that I have accumulated 2 years’ worth of Azure AI experience and bot making so I shall be fine. I am still going to attend the 2023 Azure Cloud Week for Partners training to snatch a free exam voucher.
Terraform Associate
Terraform is huge in cloud computing; but, the reason why I want to get this certification is to tie up loose ends. I am a beta tester for an education technology company. I have free access to training. In addition, I am also enrolled in the Pluralsight Cloud Happy promotion and have access to the training until February 2023. I aim to clear this no later than spring 2023 so that I can do my write-up.
MS Dynamics CRM Fundamentals
I am enrolled in two Microsoft Dynamics-related programs: Microsoft Learn Career Connected and Business Applications Skilling Program. I have been studying to pass my MB-910 since November. I am a community college student who has come across MS Dynamics in my small business management textbook. I qualify for the Microsoft Student Hub and receiving free Fundamentals exam vouchers. Passing this exam is the first step towards landing a MS Dynamics-related job.
MS Dynamics ERP Fundamentals
This is the supply chain management and project operations side of Dynamics. Since I am a PMP, I have added this to my list. I also want to get a holistic view of Dynamics and not just be solely on the CRM side.
MS Dynamics Sales Functional Consultant
The Career Connected Program is specializing in Sales Functional Consultant. I took the MB-210 Sales Consultant Business Applications Week for Partners training to prepare for the exam. Getting this associate certification would also qualify me to teach MB-910 and MB-920. Getting the MB-210 would increase my Microsoft cloud sales opportunities because I can see it from both the Azure cloud and Dynamics sales perspectives.
Certified Technical Trainer
This is actually from 2021. I passed the written exam. Finding 5 people to do the presentation is another beast. I am thinking about saving $1000 and going to Prepmasters USA and do the online part to become a Microsoft Certified Trainer and be done with it.
Of course I will come right back here to www.carlarjenkins.com for the monthly certification list updates. Thanks for the support!
