AWS She Builds CloudUp SAA : Certification Fatigue
Dear reader, I have had an epiphany: I will study for my AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification and use my AWS Solutions Architect Associate cloud training as foundational studies. I have come to this decision based on my reading one of my LinkedIn connections’ posts about deciding how many more new certification exams he would take since he already has so many Microsoft certification renewals.
Even though this is an Amazon Web Services (AWS), his post strikes a chord with me. My AWS Cloud Practitioner and AWS Solutions Architect Associate exams expire June 30, 2023. I just feel that right now it is easier for me to study for one exam (AWS Solutions Architect Professional) and kill three birds with one stone. Passing my SAP renews my SAA and CCP.
This realization is also an admission that I am not in the same place in 2020 that I am now at in 2023. I am a senior cloud professional. I am not starting out. I do not have to renew every single certification that I hold. Since AWS does not have lifetime as Microsoft, I can let them go and just do the professional-level certifications.
In the meantime, I will still going through the American Dream Academy and complete the AWS Solutions Architect Associate learning and Cloud Academy from my AWS Community Builder subscription to be prepared to pass my exam.
Finally, if I do fail my Solutions Architect Professional, I will still have more than enough knowledge to pass my Solutions Architect Associate certification. That is where I am at right now with certifications. Why go low hen I can go high?
