AWS She Builds CloudUp SAA : Climbing Uphill

Aka if it was easy everybody would do it!

it has been nearly 2 years since I have studied to pass an AWS certification. Attending the AWS She Builds CloudUp is knocking off all of the rust.

Since June 2020, I have been studying and working with Azure because of the abundance of free vouchers. I have been able to get no less than at least 5 Azure certifications (DP-900, AI-900, AZ-104, SC-900, AI-100) from Cloud Skills Challenges.

Right now I am sitting on a free exam voucher from an April Cloud Skills Challenge. I am currently attending the May Azure Cloud Week where I would qualify for an AZ-305 exam voucher, I have a MS-700 one from a Virtual Training Day and a SC-300 voucher that is good until June. Microsoft is allowing me to upskill and reskill for free using sweat equity so why not?!

I am in the AWS She Builds SAA program and back to studying for the certification AND…

It is starting off rocky. I scored 50% on my first Jon Bonso practice exam and the EC2 topic-based question quiz. AWS She Builds requires an 80% screenshot so I am officially 22 correct answers away from that on Tuesday night.

I resolve to make sure than I improve + 6 right answers every single day this week to get past the 22 correct answers I need for this 80% and voucher request! AWS She Builds says that it will start processing voucher requests starting the fourth week of the program. This is currently week three. Next week (the week of May 16, 2022) is week four.

I have a timetable I need to meet. I am getting both my AWS SAA and AWS SAP this May. I am using Jon Bonso for both. As I’ve mentioned in my AWS Community Builder series, a recruiter has mentioned that having my Solutions Architect Professional (SAP) will open up more doors. Clearing these two AWS certifications, frees me up for GCP and CISSP (and SC-300).

I have gone from scoring 30/65 on Tutorials Dojo SAA practice exam to 39/65 on the second practice exam. I am using the Portal that is directly on his website NOT the Udemy practice exams. His portal has section-based and topic-based (EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, etc.) tests. I need to score 52/65 or 80% in order for AWS She Builds to process my SAA free exam voucher request. I am resolute about dedicating this weekend towards getting to 52/65!

I will keep everyone posted. In the meantime, subscribe to my RSS Feed to never miss out on any articles! Thanks.
