AZ-500 Microsoft Cloud Security Week Day 4 Recap
Today is the final instructional day for AZ-500 Azure Security. The instructor has covered Azure Monitor, Microsoft Sentinel (formerly Azure Sentinel) and Microsoft Defender for Cloud. Having passed AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate), AZ-700 (Azure Network Engineer Associate) and have taken SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst) and AZ-305 (I have not received my Azure Architect Expert beta result yet!), I am familiar with Azure Monitor. It is nice to start this final day with Monitor instead of all of the hardcore security stuff. I admit that event, incident and problem management are easier for me because I have over 10 years’ project management experience.
Him covering Azure (ahem! Microsoft) Sentinel is also right up my alley because I have been doing some Cloud Academy Azure Sentinel labs to prep for SC-200 and AZ-305. I truly like threat intelligence and threat hunting because you’re going after the bad guys. Sentinel is very power (and expensive) but at least we have the labs so I will check them out either Friday or this weekend. But I will go over them because they are free and it is very rare to use Azure Sentinel for free.
Finally, he has covered Microsoft Defender for Cloud. Microsoft Defender for Cloud is the combination of Azure Security Center and Azure Defender. Here is the link because the name change has confused me.
I cannot wait until tomorrow for exam prep. The instructor will go through everything ahead of the exam. My goal is to pass the AZ-500 by March 15, 2022. This is within 1 month. I do have to clear 2 other certification exams but I will accomplish that this February.
Onto Day 5!
