February 2023 Certification List Update
Today is February 28, 2023, the final of the month. As standard operating procedures around these parts, I am giving you my February 2023 certification list update! I will weigh my February progress against my original 2023 baseline her e.
Accomplishments
- 2/3/2023 — Received my AWS Certified Professional Challenge 50% off discounted voucher
- 2/9/2023 — Submitted my AWS Community Builders year three renewal application
- 2/22/2023 — Had follow-up meeting with AWS User Group for March speaking engagement
- 2/24/2023 — Received confirmation to participate in special AWS focus group
- 2/27/2023 — Celebrated Day 1000 of 100 Days of Cloud
- 2/28/2023 — Passed My SC-200 Security Operations Analyst certification renewal
Passed My SC-200 Certification Renewal Exam The First Time!
Normally I start off in chronological order but with my passing my SC-200 certification renewal exam today, this is going to be first! I am very happy to have recertified the first time! This means that my time is freed up to focus on AZ-104 renewal and AWS Security Specialty because I am clearing these two in March 2023!
Day 1000 of 100 Days of Cloud
Next (I know that this is still out of order but) will be Day 1000 of 100 Days of Cloud. Crossing that major milestone on February 27, 2023 nearly made me cry. I accomplished so much personally and professionally. When I started my journey July 5, 2020, I had only AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and Solutions Architect Associate. Now I am a certified cloud expert with Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud certifications and work experience. I did a 31-minute livestream that I uploaded on YouTube with timestamps discussing my entire journey. Watch it below:
Received my AWS Certified Professional Challenge 50% off discounted voucher
I mentioned the AWS Certified Professional Challenge in January 2023. Since I was busy starting the New Year, I did not get around to registering for this challenge until February. My goal is to pass my Solutions Architect Professional certification exam. I received my 50% discounted exam voucher just in case I cannot get another free AWS exam voucher through AWS Community Builders.
Becoming an AWS Solutions Architect Professional is a cloud journey dream of mine. I have worked very hard to go from novice to expert. I have also taken full advantage of the AWS Community Builders program to learn as much as I can about AWS services. Capping my second year as a Builder off with my SAP would be wonderful!
Submitted my AWS Community Builders year three renewal application
Even though March 31, 2023 is the deadline, I promptly submitted mine February 9, 2023 because I wanted IN for year three. I feel much more confident in landing and performing in the AWS cloud interviews. The Cloud Academy subscription is worth the price of admission. Furthermore, I have landed beta opportunities to improve my cloud knowledge which I love.
Had follow-up meeting with AWS User Group for March speaking engagement
I had a follow-up meeting regarding my AWS User Group speaking engagement. Although my date got pushed back, I was happy to learn more about this country and its history.
Received confirmation to participate in special AWS focus group
I was happy that one of the AWS Community Builders program managers referred me to this group. I thought that after year 1 no one was paying attention to me anymore. I wasn’t giving speeches at AWS events or publishing on Dev.to. I was just learning away and blogging in my This Week In AWS Community series and Curated by Carla Twitter newsletter (which is now gone due to Twitter shuttering Revue).
I am so grateful that the program managers think so highly of me because I truly want to learn more about AWS and other cloud roles. Even though it is a secret, once I can disclose it I will in my This Week In AWS Community blog series! So keep your eyes posted!
