Google Tech Equity Collective Rising Innovators: Ep. 11: Doing The Math

This installment is a continuation of the Black Genius Academy episode 10. I want to use this blog series to give you an in-depth analysis of the program. Here is the Black Genius Academy program link for more information.

As you know I am currently in the Black Genius Academy, which is an offshoot of the Google Tech Equity Prep program. Since being invited to the beta program, the Black Genius Academy is now in general availability accepting applications from everyone.

I am currently on module 2 of the on-demand learning path where the focus is on software engineering. Software engineering is a very lucrative field offering a lot of career opportunities. The pay is also good. There is a lack of black software engineers in the field. Black Genius Academy is focusing on software engineers (thus far in my training) to increase the numbers.

Now IMHO there is nothing wrong with becoming a software engineer, however, shoring up your math skills should be your focus.
