The program lady finally replied to me over 1 week after I inquired about how to be considered for a live seat versus on demand. She said that the program would not be doing any more live and that everything in the future would be on demand.

Okay, as a Black person, this is counterintuitive. So Google wants to help Blacks in tech but does not even want to do live training? That on demand model is something I can do by myself with Udemy and LinkedIn Learning. What’s the competitive advantage here? I am in other top cloud provider programs and have received live training.

Outside of this, I already have enough on my plate; plus, I am being considered for more leadership opportunities outside of Google. I think my biggest objection is the fact that I do not see any value in sticking around doing on demand training modules and uploading homework. I mean I am current enrolled as a Cuyahoga Community College online student. I am already doing that.

This is why I have created the Google Tech blog series because I want you to see the behind the scenes of what this program is truly like. They are already saying that it is on demand so there will not be any direct training.
