Meta Verified Waitlist Is Open
Meta (Facebook’s parent company) has rolled out its Meta Verified subscription plans in Australia and New Zealand. By the time you’ve read this, these two countries will already have subscription plans.
There are 2 plan types: web (desktop) and app (iOS and Android). In Australia it is 19.99 Australian dollars per month for web and 24.99 Australian dollars for app. In a few months, these plans will be available in the United States for $11.99/month for web and $14.99/month for app.
Why Is This A Big Deal?
Because Facebook has been first for 17 years. Now it is rolling out subscription plans specifically aimed at creators.
Here are some of the requirements
- Businesses are not yet eligible
- Need a government issue ID
- Your name must match the government ID
- Subscription will actively look for account impersonation
- Subscription is for increased visibility
Facebook sees the creator economy as generating another source of revenue. In addition, the company is still promoting the Metaverse which will result in another creator income stream with virtual reality and augmented reality.
This subscription is a major social media shift and I want Carla’s Correspondence to be your first source of business and other news that impacts you everyone.
