This Week in AWS Community: AI Engineering Learning Track

This week an AWS Community Builder program manager announces the new AI Engineering learning track. It will be available on the 2025 renewal application. As someone who is on the Machine Learning track, this is a dilemma: stay in machine learning or go to AI engineering.

What’s the Difference?

Per the program manager, AI engineering would focus on AWS Bedrock, prompt engineering and generative AI tools. Machine learning would focus on SageMaker, deep learning and Inferentia.

Honestly I do both AWS Bedrock and SageMaker. Of course, I have asked the program manager if I have to choose between the current ML track or the AI Engineering track.

Think about it: if I have to choose only one then I severely limit my renewal submissions. The renewal application gives you only 2 links. That means that I would be confound with limited options.

Friday Update:

I have not received an official response yet so I am assuming that I would have to either choose to stay in machine learning or switch to AI engineering. Hun, decisions, decisions.
