This Week in AWS Community: Applied Knowledge

2 min readApr 11, 2025

Hey everybody! I am back with an all-new issue! This week I have jumped back into AWS to start working my way through AWS Guardrails, Amazon Nova and knowledge base. I am giving you the good, the bad and the ugly as an AWS Community Builder on the machine learning track.

AWS Guardrails

This is an AWS Bedrock feature and part of responsible AI. Guardrails police what users can type and say in your AWS application. These guardrails protect the platform from abuse, cyberattacks and bad attacks.

It can be a dictionary attack with a flood of entries to overwhelm the system. Guardrails has certain words that cannot be entered because the system will reject it.

I did do a basic test version of guardrails. As a responsible AI advocate, I like the features because it keeps the users safe.

Amazon Nova Reel

I am back to experimenting with Amazon Nova Reel again. I will say that AWS has fixed some of the bugs since my last use (You can read all about it here and even watch the YouTube
