This Week In AWS Community : Free AWS Training Resources
Hey everybody! This post has been inspired by my talk with a Latin American AWS user group’s issue with having to use a debit/credit card in order to create an AWS account. Even though I am in the US, cloud computing can cost a pretty penny. Here are two ways to learn AWS without using a debit/credit card.
AWS Educate
AWS Educate is a free site that offers labs and other structured learning to learn many of the different categories. There are labs on virtual machines, applications, machine learning, etc. And all of them are free with the creation of an AWS account.
I have used AWS Educate while in AWS She Builds CloudUp SAA cohort. I like the timer on the AWS Educate labs because it simulates a real-world environment. You usually have 45 minutes to an hour to close a ticket. Getting used to beating the timer would enhance your job readiness in cloud computing. Click here to register and get started.
AWS Skillbuilder — Free version
There are two versions: free and paid. The free version lets you access sample exam prep questions and has many different languages besides English like Chinese and Japanese. You can use your Amazon store account or another way to create an AWS Skillbuilder account.
I know that a lot of you are not at the AWS Community Builder level yet. I am all about getting free resources to upskill and reskill yourself at the start of your AWS journey. These two free resources will help you along the way..
FYI — The 2023 AWS Community Builder application window will close January 23, 2023. If you have AWS certification, AWS content and cloud background, apply.
