This Week In AWS Community: Getting Just Due Credit

During my entire time here as an AWS Community Builder, getting AWS credits and certification vouchers have been like money (Well, technically they are. The definition of money is a medium of exchange and a storer of value). In this issue, I am talking about AWS credits and the renewal process.

What Is an AWS Credit?

Fair enough. An AWS credit is something that you can use towards running approved AWS services. When you use AWS credits, you don’t have to spend cash. The fact that AWS credits save you money is why these are so coveted.

How do you get AWS Credits?

You can get them through the AWS Community Builders, your company being an AWS Partner or attending SageMaker Friday LinkedIn Livestreams (You may also see it on YouTube but I don’t know if YouTube is giving out that promo code). Every Friday, you can qualify to receive $5 AWS credit with a promo code for attending. These $5 add up. Attend 4 livestreams and that’s $20 in AWS credits.

In this case, I’ve received 100 credits from completing an AWS New Voices survey. I truly need those 100 AWS credits because they cover Bedrock. As many of you know, I am in the machine learning track. AWS Bedrock, Titan and SageMaker are in my wheelhouse.
