This Week in AWS Community: The Personal and The Professional

1 min readApr 18, 2025

Hey there everybody! Things have been getting interested around here both personally and professionally.

Personally

I have learned that studying to pass my Machine Learning Engineer Associate exam isn’t distracting me from artificial intelligence. There is some overlap. Initially, I was afraid to pursue this certification because I wanted to focus on AI.

Having gone through my Tutorials Dojo practice tests, I see the overlap calming me down a little bit. Also my workforce development voucher is expiring May so I am making the move.

Professionally

I have restarted applying for Amazon jobs. Get this: I am merging my AWS background with project management (I have my Project Management Professional [PMP] since 2013). I have seen several positions that match both skillsets. In addition, I have applied for competitive intelligence positions since I have Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud certifications and work experience. Even though these project roles may not appear as technical, I do have the tech background to excel in them.
