Hey everybody! This week you get a BONUS This Week In AWS Community blog post. And it all has to do with AWS New Voices.

As you know, I was an AWS New Voices inaugural cohort member in 2023 and a coach in 2024. Well, due to my being a coach, I got this nifty Mentorsaurus t-shirt! I thought it was pretty cool to show especially since my year 4 AWS Community Builders swag came in yesterday.

Also I want to let you know the importance of being in the AWS Community Builders program. It is not all just coding and building using AWS products and services.

Soft skills are a must in technology. Being able to communicate your ideas are essential. Remember, it is not just good enough to build using AWS SageMaker and Bedrock, you must communicate why you’ve selected these two products.

Another reason why I’ve written this post is because in year 4 you should see yourself more as a mentor. You’re not a newbie. This is year 4. You’re on your third renewal cycle. You should have amassed some knowledge of AWS services. Right now I am working on Bedrock, PartyRock, SageMaker and other machine learning products. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are booming; which is my sector. I will keep all of you posted on their developments. I may even do some YouTube videos and livestreams showcasing my lab exercises.
