September 2023 Certification List Update: Closing Out Third Quarter Strong
I have had a very productive September 2023. From the 1st to the 30th, I have been busy with workforce development and certification training. I am here to show you my September 2023 update. Of course, here is the original 2023 certification post for reference and comparative analysis.
Here are my September 2023 accomplishments

· 9/16/2023 — Enrolled in ExamPro Terraform Bootcamp
· 9/22/2023 — Passed My Oracle Cloud AI Foundations Associate Exam
· 9/30/2023 — Ended Oracle Race to Certification with 3 certifications out of 4 attempts
· 9/30/2023 — Passed My DevOps Leader Exam
Passed my Scrum Agile Master Certified Exam
I took the ScrumStudy.com workforce training in August (administered by Ohio IMAP [individual microcredential assistance program] and taught by Global Lynx). Global Lynx gave us the September 6, 2023 deadline. I literally completed my certification exam at midnight. My computer froze up so bad that it spooled for 17 minutes leaving me to hit the complete exam button without reviewing all of my answers. However, I passed receiving my first agile coaching certification.
I was the only student in the classroom who knew what agile coaching was. That put me ahead because I knew what I could do with that Scrum Agile Master Certified (SAMC) certification. I implore you to do the same. Go on Google and LinkedIn and search the jobs aligned with the particular certification you want to accomplish. That way you’ve set goals and start crafting the right resume for this position.
Attended Ohio IMAP DevOps Leader exam prep training
My passing my SAMC and DevOps Foundation certification in June 2023 qualify me for the DevOps Leader (Ohio IMAP mandates that you finish the first training [SAMC] before moving onto the next training.). I wanted to be in this training because I hate having beginner certifications. I dislike being at the bottom.
I have learned a lot more about how DevOps overlaps with observability, IT service management and site reliability engineering. DevOps closing these gaps makes me a better professional.
Enrolled in ExamPro Terraform Bootcamp
I paid $5 for the ExamPro Terraform bootcamp Discord access. However, in between studying to pass the SAMC, DevOps and being under the weather has cut into my Terraform study time. At least the lessons are on YouTube. In addition, some of the OCI observability services use Terraform like OCI Resource Manager (Oracle Cloud infrastructure as code) and Enterprise Manager (service that moves data be it on-premise or in Oracle Cloud). Getting my Terraform Associate by the end of 2023 is my goal because I need to be a well-rounded cloud professional.
Passed My Oracle Cloud AI Foundations Associate Exam
I learned about this new certification on Monday, September 18, 2023 (Oracle released it September 15, 20230. I saw this as my chance to be multi-cloud in AI. The free exam prep training and certification were great to teach anyone the basics of AI and machine learning. I passed my exam Friday, September 22, 2023. This exam was unproctored; and, at the time, was not eligible for the Oracle Race to Certification promotion which ended September 30, 2023.
Ended Oracle Race to Certification with 3 certifications out of 4 attempts
The Oracle Race to Certification free promotion ended September 30, 2023. I received 3 certifications out of 4 attempts. I passed my Oracle Cloud Foundations Associate, Oracle Cloud Multi-cloud Architect Associate and Oracle Cloud AI Foundations Associate. I failed my Observability Professional certification exam by ONE point! I was so disgusted and disheartened to be ONE CORRECT ANSWER away from 4/4.
Passed My DevOps Leader Exam
I ended September 2023 passing my DevOps Leader certification. The exam was administered by Peoplecert. I had to have my laptop and desk set up facing the door. The DevOps Leader exam was an open book. You must use a separate device on airplane mode. I used my cell phone. I also uploaded my DevOps manual onto Google Drive and accessed the textbook from there.
